Ulutoa, second quarter lead Ronan over Whitefish

RONAN — Leina Ulutoa scored 23 points, 19 in the first half, and the Ronan Maidens earned a spot in next week’s Western A girls basketball divisional with a 47-38 play-in win over Whitefish Saturday.

Behind Ulutoa’s 13-second quarter points, Ronan ran out to a 36-22 lead. She ended up 9 of 11 at the line as well.

Arianna Zepeda and Isabella Devereaux-Trahan combined for three first-quarter 3-pointers for Ronan (8-11). Bailey Smith scored 14 points to lead Whitefish, which ended up 6-12.
