Hellgate girls outlast Wolfpack in fourth

Missoula Hellgate’s Alex Covill poured in 27 points, and the Knights surged in the first and fourth quarters in their 59-50 defeat of Glacier in girls basketball action Saturday.

Noah Fincher scored 16 points for the Wolfpack, which trailed 17-7 early but closed to 41-40 going into the final quarter.

There, the 6-foot-6 Covill scored 12 points, including four free throws.

Sarah Downs added 10 points for Glacier (2-16 overall, 1-13 in league). Kenedee Moore scored all of her seven points in the second half.

“My girls played with heart and executed tonight,” Glacie coach Amanda Cram said. “Despite our record, they showed that we are not a team to be underestimated.”

Chloe Larson added 16 points for Hellgate (11-6, 10-4 in league).
