Victor Carl Schroeder, 78, of Yellow Bay, Montana, passed away on Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, at Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, with his wife by his side.

Vic was born Oct. 13, 1944, in Kalispell, the second child of Bill and Ida Schroeder. In 1967 he married the former Christine Hebert. They made their home in Kalispell for more than 30 years. During his working years Vic worked for the City of Kalispell Sewer Department, retiring in 2001 as the head of the department. It was tough work, but he enjoyed the job and the people he got to work with.

In 2000, when Chris retired, they bought a cherry orchard in Yellow Bay, just north of Polson. They ran the orchard with dedication and love. After Vic retired, he and Chris traveled, getting the opportunity to see much of the western United States. They cherished this time together. Vic also enjoyed being a member of the Yellow Bay Community Club attending functions when he could.

Vic is survived by his wife of 55 years, Chris Schroeder; his oldest brother Arthur Schroeder and his wife Gloria; as well as many nieces and nephews and a couple of beloved canine companions.

He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother James Schroeder.

Arrangements are under the direction of Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory, Missoula.
