Girls hoops: C-Falls Wildkats hold off Ronan

COLUMBIA FALLS — Hope McAtee and Emalee Alton scored 11 points each, and Columbia Falls made a 24-9 lead hold up for a 53-50 girls basketball win over Northwest A rival Ronan Friday.

Alton had a double-double, snaring 10 rebounds. McAtee hit two free throws in the final minute to make it a two-score game, and the Maidens hit a long 3-pointer as time ran down.

Taryn Borgen added another 10 points for the Wildkats (7-1 overall, 3-1 in the Northwest A). Olivia Heiner had a game-high 14 points for Ronan (2-5, 2-2 in league), while Arianna Zepeda chipped in 12.

WHITEFISH — Jude Perry poured in 18 points, Bailey Smith added 15 and Whitefish downed Libby for the Bulldogs’ first Northwest A win.

Perry and Smith combined to hit 15 of 18 free throws for Whitefish (4-5 overall, 1-3 in league games); Smith was 9-for-9, and had 11 points by halftime.

Rylee Boltz led the Loggers (1-8, 0-5) with seven points.

FRENCHTOWN — Mason Quinn and Madson Kaufman combined for 39 Frenchtown points, and the Broncs made a 35-16 halftime lead hold up for a non-conference win.

Mila Hawk scored 17 points to lead the Northwest A Pirates (4-4). The Southwest A Broncs (8-2) also got 10 points from Alexis Godin.
