Rodney 'Rod' Mackey, 63

Rodney “Rod” Mackey passed away July 13, 2022, in Arlee, Montana. He was born May 11, 1959, in Harlem, Montana. He was the son of Donald and Louise Mackey.

Rod was raised in Kalispell and attended Pine Grove, Kalispell Jr. High and Flathead High Schools. In June of 1978 he married his soulmate Amy Ferrell. They were married until her passing in January 2017.

Together they had two children, Christopher and Cynthia. Rod’s greatest love was fishing. Followed by a close second, cooking. He was an excellent chef, always sharing with those around him. He also loved music and the outdoors. He was very much an animal lover. He had the gift of gab with many stories to share.

He was preceded in death by both parents and his wife.

He is survived by his children; several grandchildren; his sister Suzan Waggener, of Kalispell; brother Roy Mackey of Billings; as well as his nieces and nephews.

Rod’s passing leaves an empty spot in the hearts of many.
