Twins start Gallo tourney with win over Miles City
WHITEFISH — Maddux Muller hit a two-run single to spark a six-run second inning for the Glacier Twins Thursday, in their 9-1 win over the Miles City Mavericks at the Ed Gallo Wood Bat Tournament.
Muller’s hit put the Twins up 4-0; Kellen Kroger added an RBI single and Jake McIntyre capped the inning with a double that scored Kroger for an 8-0 lead.
Muller and Josiah Ruther each scored twice for the Twins (18-5); McIntyre and Muller each had two hits.
McIntyre also had a strong pitching performance, allowing five hits, two walks and one run in five innings of work. He fanned three, and Tristan Butts threw one inning in a game that ended after six under the mercy rule.
The Twins play Gonzaga Prep at 7 p.m. Friday.
Rylin Gentry had three hits, including a double, and drove in the only run for Miles City (17-12).
