Donna Mae Bruner, 85

Donna Mae Bruner, 85 of Whitefish, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 25, 2022.

She was born June 10, 1937, in Wolf Point to Charles William Rathert and Frances E. (Lund) Rathert.

She deeply loved her family and family gatherings and her time traveling with her husband Merv to their home in Arizona for the winter months.

Donna was an easygoing, kind, generous and loving soul. She was a member of Summit Life Church in Whitefish. Before becoming a full-time homemaker, Donna pursued a profession in the banking business.

She loved animals, especially her dog Gracie. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing piano, rummage sale shopping, lunch and game dates with her friends. She also enjoyed her stained glass classes when she and Merv lived in Arizona.

She is survived by daughter, Kim Porter (Russ); daughter, Karen Koday (Mark); son, Chuck Freeman (Heidi); son, Mike Freeman (Heidi); eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, William Rathert; brother, Chuck Rathert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Mervin Bruner; and brother, Fred Rathert.

A celebration of Donna’s life will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Easthaven Baptist Church, 2010 Whitefish Stage Road, Kalispell, MT 59901. A reception will follow services.
