Zegna, Lucky lead Range Riders to Monday win
Nick Lucky homered, Nick Zegna threw seven strong innings and the Glacier Range Riders cruised to a 7-0 lead on the way to an 8-3 Pioneer League baseball win over Idaho Falls Monday.
Dean Miller had three hits and Ben McConnell had a double and three runs batted in for the Range Riders (26-15), who scored five times in the third inning at Glacier Pank Park.
Zegna allowed five hits and two walks while improving to 4-1 on the season. He fanned three Chukars (16-27).
Miller had an RBI triple and scored on Benjamin Fitzgerald’s sacrifice fly in the first inning; McConnell’s bases-loaded double was the key hit in the third. He came in on Gabe Howell’s single for a 7-0 gap.
After Mark Herron, Jr., homered to put Idaho Falls on the board in the fifth inning, Lucky answered with a solo shot, his fourth, in Glacier’s half of the inning. Lucky scored twice.
The Range Riders play the Chukars six times this week. Tuesday's start time is 7:05 p.m.
