Law roundup: Burmese python escapes in Columbia Falls

Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a report that a Burmese python snaked its way outside a Columbia Falls residence. A man allegedly notified the neighborhood and posted flyers but wanted to know if he should have other concerns such as reporting it to law enforcement agencies.

A male reportedly wearing a fox mask and clad in neon pink and green caught the eye of a woman who told deputies she almost hit him as he skipped down a road in Kalispell.

A man allegedly jumped out in front of cars and was “challenging a semi-truck” on U.S. 2 in Kalispell.

A man was reportedly very frustrated with speeders in his Columbia Falls neighborhood and tired of going through the proper channels with no satisfaction that he wanted to know if it was legal to take matters into his own hands by installing speed bumps with chains across the road. He was advised against doing this.

A man was allegedly seen drinking from a paper bag and throwing rocks at cars while repeatedly walking into traffic in Kalispell.

Someone reportedly found a small black backpack on the road that contained cash and lighters in Bigfork.

Debris, including four boxes, allegedly flew out of a truck’s unsecured load on U.S. 93 in Kalispell.

Someone calling from Columbia Falls offered to round up four or five horses they thought were running loose but later found out they were contained on their own property.

A pit bull and a border collie allegedly chased vehicles in Kalispell.

Kalispell Police Department responded to a report of a bicyclist hit by a car. A passerby told officers the bicyclist was up and walking but looked injured.

An extension ladder with a self-leveling seat and drop hitch, valued at $720, was reported stolen.

A man allegedly walked into a business demanding a coffee or soda for payment. Employees had no idea what the “payment” would be for and felt uncomfortable in his presence when he began walking in circles and talking to himself.

A woman who allegedly pitched her tent next to a “no camping” sign in a park yelled at someone and ignored a note officers previously left telling her to pack up and move out. She was issued a citation.

A man reportedly found trespassing at the library refused to leave. An employee requested his one-year ban become permanent.

A man wearing baggy clothing and glasses allegedly threatened to beat someone up and took off on foot.

An older man seen lying on a sidewalk appeared to be having trouble getting up and walking and someone requested a welfare check. Officers were unable to locate the man.

A silver Nissan Frontier reportedly parked in front of a fire hydrant for more than a week.
