Law roundup: Man’s gunshot wound allegedly not accidental
Someone called the Kalispell Police Department alleging a man accidentally shot himself in the leg, but it turned out to be his groin. That wasn’t the only thing amiss, though. Upon reviewing surveillance footage, officers said the incident looked like it was intentional and occurring during a fight.
Someone complained about an older “gentleman’s” pants falling down.
After a crew rolled gravel to smoothen out a road a sod in a white truck reportedly did a burnout through the entire project, leaving huge divots. The person calling in the report said the truck’s driver had harassed employees. They were concerned the situation would escalate when work crews returned to once again smooth the road.
A sibling looking out for their brother asked officers to call him because they thought he was being scammed. The erstwhile brother was on his way to buy gift cards valued at $9,500, referring to them as “security cards.” His sibling hoped the police would stop him. Officers called the brother advising him of the scam. He blocked a phone number and turned around for home.
An inebriated man who believed his shoulder was broken claimed he was assaulted and knew the suspect. He allegedly wasn’t concerned about the assault and just wanted medical attention. Multiple witnesses said the injury was self-inflicted — he tripped over a bench.
An unresponsive woman was reportedly found fully dressed and bent over a toilet with a lighter lying on the ground. She told officers she was OK and declined being taken to the hospital. Officers provided her with Narcan, which is used to treat overdoses.
An off-white Ford pickup that was blocking someone's boat for a couple of days turned out to be stolen. The vehicle was returned to its owner and evidence was logged.
A neighbor living below a woman allegedly kept “trying to get into her apartment for sex” and continually called her, harassing her and knocking on her door.
Officers checked on a vehicle with the word “help” written on the dusty bumper. The registered owner said everything was OK.
A stranger was reportedly seen sitting on someone’s porch and under a neighbor’s tree. Combined with a mysterious vehicle parked in front of a resident’s home, they thought the suspicious person was casing the neighborhood.
