Law roundup: Florida woman leaves infant in vehicle
A woman allegedly left an infant in a car seat in a beige Suburban with all the windows up while she went into a store. A Kalispell Police officer spoke with the woman about Montana’s Endangering the Welfare of Children law. She said knew it was illegal in Florida, where she was from, but she didn’t know it was in Montana too. She reportedly said she was “only in the store for 15 minutes.” The infant did not appear to be in distress and the car’s interior was still cool.
A business owner was appalled to see a man reportedly changing his clothes “right in the open.” Once dressed, he began dancing in the parking lot.
Youths in a Pontiac Grand Prix were allegedly “acting crazy,” yelling and swearing in a back parking lot. Officers counseled the youths.
Someone complained about a woman trespassing on the property and was reportedly living in her vehicle parked there. They said she would leave the car at the property and walk to work and wanted it towed.
Two dogs, with internal clocks reportedly set to bark daily at 9 a.m., would continue to bark for five to 10 minutes throughout the day. One dog would reportedly take its place up on a boat in its backyard while the other dog, which was too small to hop on, ran around below. A frustrated man tried to do the neighborly thing and contact the dog owner, but when two notes he left on their door went unanswered, he called the police.
Security personnel reported a stolen UTV from a business's parking lot and there was allegedly video of the incident where it looked like the Hisun Azis 500 was hot-wired. Officers made contact with a woman who wouldn’t divulge any information about a suspected male’s whereabouts. The officer advised her that turning himself in may be to his benefit.
