A community open house on Saturday, June 3 provides a tour of the Wachholz College Center.

The 58,000 square-foot facility center, located at Flathead Valley Community College campus, opened in November 2022 and features an amphitheater, recital hall, art gallery and multipurpose activity complex that includes a fitness center and gym complex. The Wachholz also serves as the Glacier Symphony’s performance space. Funding for the approximately $22 million project primarily came from donor support.

The open house will be held from noon to 4 p.m. and will showcase the performing arts and activity venue’s O’Shaughnessy Outdoor Amphitheater and Swank Recital Hall with live music by Flathead Valley musicians including Colton Christensen, Artist Robinson, Halladay Quist, Ben Darce, and musicians from the Glacier Symphony Orchestra.

The fall and winter season lineup of shows coming to the Wachholz will also be announced. There is no cost to attend.

“Between the outstanding lineup of performances that Glacier Symphony has planned for next season and the variety of concerts and lectures that Wachholz College Center is presenting, this venue is well-positioned to be a true cultural hub of northwest Montana,” Center Director Matt Laughlin said. “We want everyone in the community to experience it.”

Attendees will be able to purchase tickets to Glacier Symphony performances and Wachholz College Center shows during the open house.

Food will be available to purchase from Knucklehead BBQ, 406 Taco Nite, and Cold Stone Creamery.
