The Glacier Range Riders closed out their first homestand of the season with a 5-1 win over the Rocky Mountain Vibes Sunday afternoon at Glacier Bank Ballpark.

Glacier’s starting pitcher Tanner Solomon tossed six innings while striking out six and allowing one run. The Riders pen then shutout the Vibes with Andrew Holweger, Ryan Cloude, and Justin Coleman each throwing a scoreless inning.

The Vibes jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a Carson Maxwell home run to left center but the Range Riders responded in the bottom half of the inning with a run of their own when Gabe Howell came around to score on a Jackson Raper single. Glacier tacked on another run in the second after Mason Dinesen singled then came around to score on an error.

In the third inning the Range Riders got a power surge when Eddie McCabe launched a two run homer to left field making things 4-1. Dinesen did the rest of the damage at the plate for the Riders when he blasted a solo homer in the fourth inning that traveled 421-feet according to the Range Riders Twitter.

From there Solomon and the Riders bullpen were lights out allowing only two hits over the final five innings.

Howell drew four walks on the day from the leadoff spot for Glacier while Kingston Liniak and Matt Clayton both chipped in with doubles for the Riders.

With the win Sunday the Range Riders won the series against the Vibes and finished their homestand with a 5-1 record making Glacier 7-3 on the season.

Now the Range Riders travel to Billings to take on the Mustangs with Game one scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Tuesday.
