Compton, Mavs blank AA Lakers Tuesday

MISSOULA — Chris Compton stymied Kalispell on two hits, and the Missoula Mavericks scored seven runs in the sixth inning of an 8-0 Legion win over the AA Lakers on Tuesday.

Compton allowed two walks and cruised through seven shutout innings on 96 pitches. He fanned four. Adam Nikunen and Max Holden had the Laker hits.

Andre Cephers threw four shutout innings for Kalispell (20-4), but Missoula broke the game open with four walks and four hits — including Owen McGuinn’s 3-run triple — in the sixth.

The Lakers’ next action is Saturday: A road doubleheader against the Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs.
