Hall scores 4 times, Twins win opener
LIBBY — Sam Hall scored four runs, Nolan Amerman drove in two and the Glacier Twins opened their American League with a 12-2 win over Libby on Monday.
The game was 1-1 going to the top of the sixth inning, when the Twins picked up four unearned runs thanks to five Logger errors. AC Chilson added an RBI single to rally.
After Libby closed to 5-2, the Twins got that run back when Mikey Glass doubled to lead off the seventh and scored on Sam Hall’s single; Hall eventually scored on Nolan Amerman’s RBI grounder for a 7-2 lead.
In the eighth the Twins scored four more runs, all after two were out, thanks to five walks and a Dayne Tu RBI single.
Mikey Glass pitched the first three innings for Glacier, allowing two walks and striking out five. Four relievers teamed up for another 12 walks issued, though the Loggers did not take full advantage.
The Twins’ next action is a road doubleheader with the Cranbrook Bandits on Saturday.
