Whitefish Theatre Company wraps up season with comedy
Only three performances of “Suite Surrender,” remain in Whitefish Theatre Company’s wrap-up of the 2022-23 season.
This uproarious comedy takes place in 1942. Two of Hollywood's biggest divas have arrived at the luxurious Palm Beach Royale Hotel to perform at a USO benefit. The problem is the clashing divas have been booked into the same presidential suite.
“Kim Krueger and Nicki Corne’ play dueling divas accidentally booked into the same hotel suite on the night of a big war benefit concert. Their handlers and the hotel staff, including a seemingly unflappable hotel manager and a snoopy newspaper reporter, scurry about wildly trying to keep the two stars out of each other’s sights, lest someone get hur — maybe even thrown off of a balcony,” Director Scarlett Schindler said.
Reminiscent of the screwball comedies of the ’30s and ’40s, this play of mistaken identities, overblown egos, double entendres and a lap dog named Mr. Boodles is a hilarious, laugh-out-loud romp.
The cast of characters includes Tristen Hollist as Otis, Matt Strool as Francis, Todd Malo as Bernard S. Dunlap, Katie Nixon as Dora Del Rio, Amy Galt as Mrs. Everett P. Osgood, Hunter Cripe as Mr. Pippit, and Laura Abernethy as Murphy and Mr. Boodles as himself.
