RV park pitched for Columbia Falls
A new RV park could soon be coming to Columbia Falls.
The Flathead County Planning Board at its June 14 meeting will take up an application by Michael Faktor for a 21 space RV park on six acres at Narrow Way.
Narrow Way is near Jellison Road and accesses U.S. 2 just south of Proof Research. It is a private gravel road. About 235 feet of it would be upgraded to 22 feet of paved road if the park is approved.
An existing home on the property would be used for a caretaker residence, according to the application.
The lot is currently wooded. The plan is for 4.23 RV spots per acre. The RV park would take up about 5 acres of the site and Faktor plans on installing a public water and sewer system.
The area is already a mix of housing and commercial development, according to the planning staff report.
It’s expected the park would use about 2,403 gallons of water per day.
The staff report also claims the noise from the park would be minimal.
“The proposed commercial uses are not anticipated to generate permanent continuous noise impacting area residents or wildlife,” it states.
The planning board meeting starts at 6 p.m.
