Carol Y. (Hanson) Slaybaugh, 85

Carol Y (Hanson) Slaybaugh, 85, of Hermiston, Oregon was born on July 25, 1937, in Kalispell to parents Richard and Josephine (Sundt) Hanson. She died on May 25, 2023, in Pendleton, Oregon at the age of 85.

Carol was raised in Somers and Kalispell where she attended school. She married Darrell Slaybaugh on Oct. 30, 1954, in Whitefish. Darrell worked in road construction so they lived in Kalispell, Spokane, Washington and Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Darrell preceded her in death in 2009 and Carol moved to Hermiston, Oregon in 2013 where she lived since. She cherished spending time with her family and enjoyed playing cards and traveling.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Lockhart; her sons-in-law, James and Hermiston; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her husband; two daughters, Kathy Isaac and Kim Davis; her parents, two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jason; and a great-granddaughter Olyvia.
