Officials on Wednesday identified 37-year-old Kimberly Ann Gilham as the woman killed in an apparent hit-and-run in Martin City on June 18.

Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino released the victim's identity, but said Montana Highway Patrol is handling the investigation. Gilham was a resident of Martin City.

A motorist allegedly ran Gilham over on Central Avenue in Martin City about 1 a.m., according to a report from Montana Highway Patrol. Gilham was in the vehicle, a Chevrolet Silverado, with a 38-year-old man from Columbia Falls when another man approached, officials said. An argument ensued, officials said.

Gilham later exited the pickup. The man behind the wheel allegedly drove forward, running her over and then left the scene.

First responders transported Gilham to Logan Health Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries.
