A Lakers, Twins win at Cloninger Classic
HELENA — Tanner Cockerill’s 2-run triple broke open a tight game in the fifth inning Thursday, and the Kalispell A Lakers beat JNS Baseball 12-4 at the Cloninger Classic tournament.
Jackson Heino threw all 6-innings for the Lakers, scattering 11 hits and two walks. He fanned four.
Brecken Walcheck and Hunter Fann also drove in two runs for the Lakers (27-8); Fann had an RBI single in the midst of a 5-run rally in the third inning that put his team up 6-0. Cockerill’s big hit came after JNS closed to 6-4.
The Lakers continue play at the tournament with a game against Gillette, Wyoming on Friday.

HELENA — Kellen Kroger and Dayne Tu combined to throw a 2-hitter and Stevyn Andrachick’s 2-run double broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fifth inning for the Glacier Twins at the Cloninger Classic.
Andrachick came in on Mikey Glass’s single to put the Twins (11-1) up 4-1; Tristan Butts added a 2-run single in the sixth.
Kroger threw 4 2-3 innings, allowing five hits, two walks and one run. He fanned seven. Tu got the last seven outs, striking out one.
