Geraldine McElroy, 78

| June 28, 2023 12:00 AM

Geraldine (Geri) McElroy, 78, loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother passed into the Lord's Kingdom on June 23, 2023, with her family at her side.

She was born May 29, 1945, to Blanche and Monte Garrett, the eldest of three daughters.

She attended grade school in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead High in 1963.

Shortly after graduation she married Ole Carlon, of Whitefish. Geri and Ole had two children, Jonna and Kameron.

She worked at the B&B grocery store in Kalispell, in the bakery department.

She went on to own and operate, with Ole, The Bowl Pen bowling alley in downtown Whitefish, where she managed the lanes and ran the lunch counter.

After she and Ole divorced, she got her real estate license and made her career selling manufactured homes for the Marlette dealership in Kalispell.

In 1981, Geri married Jim McElroy. They enjoyed over 40 years together, raising children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Their home was open to everyone and everyone was well loved. Geri loved cooking and baking and always took it upon herself to make the birthday cakes — and pretty much everything else.

She and Jimmy loved camping, fishing and Honky Tonkin' with their best "buds."

She is preceded in death by her father, Monte Garrett; her sister, Pamela Nadvornick; and her son, Kameron Carlon.

She is survived by her mother, Blanche Garret; her husband, Jim McElroy; her sister, Kitty Young; her daughter, Jonna and husband Mark Salansky. Her grandchildren, Shea Clayton, Kortney Moss, Garrett Role and Kameron James Carlon; her great-grandson, Michael Kameron Moss; nieces, nephews and their families. Much extended family, and great friends.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m., on June 30, at St. Matthew's parish, in Kalispell, followed by a Graveside Committal, at Conrad Cemetery, and reception.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the family.
