Kirtley powers Riders to 12-2 win in Boise
BOISE, Idaho — Christian Kirtley had a breakout performance Wednesday night to help the Glacier Range Riders beat the Boise Hawks 12-2 at Memorial Stadium. Kirtley was making his second appearance for the Riders and powered the offense with two home runs and a double. Kirtley started at catcher and finished 3-4 with three runs batted in.
Nick Lucky was another key piece for the Glacier lineup going 3-5 with a homerun and three runs batted in of his own. Dean Miller hit the Range Riders' other homerun on the night.
Starter Nick Zenga was dominant in his fourth start for Glacier. He picked up the win after striking out four across seven innings while allowing one earned run. Riders relievers Ryan Cloude and John Natoli combined to hold the Hawks scoreless across the final two innings to seal the victory.
Kingston Liniak chipped in two RBI of his own for Glacier while going 3-4 with a double.
Boise Hawks starting pitcher Mathew Sox took home the loss after allowing six earned runs over 4⅔ innings.
