A Lakers and Mariners split doubleheader

The Mission Valley Mariners and A Lakers split a doubleheader in Kalispell Wednesday with the Mariners taking game one 4-3 and the Lakers running away with the second game 11-5. Jackson Heino started the first game for the Lakers and tossed six innings while striking out four. Brysen Herion and Bryce Buckmaster picked up the Lakers runs batted in. Braden Capser doubled for Kalispell.

Espn Fisher was 2-4 with an RBI for the Mariners in the win.

In the second game Hunter Gidden and Bryce Quinnell each picked up a pair of RBI to lead the Lakers to the win. Kalispell starting pitcher Luke Nikunen tossed five innings while striking out four and allowing five earned runs.

Trevor Cockerill struck out two for the Lakers pitching a scoreless seventh inning in relief.

Fisher was 3-4 with two doubles in the loss for the Mariners.
