Big Sky City Lights set to return home for evening of song

| March 9, 2023 12:00 AM

With a fresh and modern sound infused with classic elements of folk, country, and pop, Big Sky City Lights is heading home to the Flathead Valley on June 3 to perform at the Wachholz College Center on the campus of the Flathead Valley Community College.

On stage in the birthplace of their partnership, Big Sky City Lights is planning a very special evening of story and song. The indie folk duo emerged as a partnership between New York City-based Susan O’Dea and Montana-based Nick Spear, creating unique covers of well-known songs during the 2020 lockdown.

The collaboration led to the release of their debut full-length album of original music “Wake Me When We Get There,” in June 2021.

Now after a year of touring the city lights of New York, Nashville and the Pacific Northwest, the duo is very excited to be back in Big Sky Country with their full band in concert.

Big Sky City Lights weaves effortlessly from the intimate stillness of duos like Simon & Garfunkel and The Civil Wars to the powerhouse vocals of Heart and Brandi Carlile.

Their special brand of stripped-down contemporary folk-pop landed Big Sky City Lights a feature on “Good Morning America” and coveted spots at major music festivals, including Sisters Folk Festival and Under The Big Sky Festival on the bill with Jason Isbell, Emmylou Harris, and others.

Be prepared for an evening of lush harmonies, moving melodies, toe-tapping originals and maybe even some special guests.
