Arlene Ruth Soderstrom, 85

Arlene Ruth Soderstrom, 85, of Kalispell, passed away March 10, 2023. She was born in Lodi, California on June 18, 1937.

Arlene was the youngest of five children born to Jacob and Molly Kraft. She was the loving wife of Bob Soderstrom for over 50 years, who preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 2016.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Ron Larson and his wife Kathy Larson of Kansas City; three grandsons and four great-grandsons. She is also survived by her step-daughter, Shelly Soderstrom. Other dear family members include Mike and Anna Soderstrom.

Arlene worked for the Veterans Affairs Department in Kalispell until her retirement. She was a strong advocate for veteran’s rights and loved to help them in any way she could. She was a voracious reader all of her life, and when she would play, she loved bowling and shuffleboard. She also loved camping in Glacier National Park and at Foys Lake. Arlene was quite a prolific amateur poet who wrote about her real life experiences in a comical and light-hearted way.
