Banished fairytale misfits take center stage in ‘Shrek the Musical’

| March 23, 2023 12:00 AM

The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theater’s production of “Shrek the Musical” continues this weekend.

Based on the popular (but not always appropriate) DreamWorks movie, the play runs at the Bigfork Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25, at 7:30 p.m.

Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he's handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn't be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.

Regular ticket prices are $14 for Adults, $12 for Seniors, $11 for Students and $10 for children under 10 and can be purchased online or at the Box Office one hour prior to performances.

This production is fun for the entire family. For more information, call 837-4886 or email bpct@bigforksummerplayhouse.com or visit www.bigforksummerplayhouse.com.
