No. 29323 DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SERVICE REGULATION BEFORE THE PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF THE STATE OF MONTANA In re NorthWestern Energy’s Application for Authority to Increase Retail Electric and Natural Gas Utility Service Rates and for Approval of Electric and Natural Gas Service Schedules and Rules and Allocated Cost of Service and Rate Design Docket 2022.07.078 March 24, 2023 Notice of Public Hearing On August 8, 2022, NorthWestern Energy (“NorthWestern”) filed its Application for Authority to Increase Retail Electric and Natural Gas Utility Service Rates and for Approval of Electric and Natural Gas Service Schedules and Rules and Allocated Cost of Service and Rate Design (“Application”). In the Application, NorthWestern proposes to raise rates for electric and natural gas service and implement new rate adjustment riders for costs associated with reliability, business technology, and fire mitigation. On September 14, 2022, the Commission issued Procedural Order 7860b which established a variety of substantive and procedural deadlines for this docket. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Commission will conduct a public hearing on NorthWestern’s Application. The public hearing will commence on April 11, 2023, at 9:00 a.m., in the Bollinger Room located in the Commission’s offices at 1701 Prospect Avenue, Helena, Montana. The Commission’s website (http://psc.mt.gov) will have a live stream of the hearing. The hearing will continue from day to day, as necessary. The hearing is for the purpose of receiving evidence (testimony and exhibits) addressing the Application. Testimony submitted at the hearing is subject to cross-examination. The Commission will provide opportunity for in-person public comment at the beginning of each hearing day.
