Motorcyclist dies after hitting cow in Lake County
A 59-year-old Ronan motorcyclist died May 3 after he struck a cow in Lake County.
Montana Highway Patrol reports that the crash happened at midnight on U.S. 93 near South McDonald Lake Road.
The man was riding a Victory Kingpin northbound and struck a black cow that was standing in the roadway. The motorcycle went off the left side of the highway and traveled about 30 yards before coming to a stop.
Speed is suspected as a contributing factor in the crash, the Highway Patrol report states. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.
