Country Music Hall of Famer Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives stop in Kalispell on ‘Altitude’ tour

| May 4, 2023 12:00 AM

With his first new album in six years, Country Music Hall of Famer Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives are stopping in Kalispell on their Altitude tour.

Tickets are on sale now to see the July 28 concert, which will be held at the Wachholz College Center.

Stuart, a Country Music Hall of Famer, five-time Grammy-winner, and American Music Awards Lifetime Achievement honoree, picks up where he left off on “Altitude,” his first new album in six years, “exploring a cosmic country landscape populated by dreamers and drifters, misfits and angels, honky-tonk heroes and lonesome lovers.” The music draws inspiration from the sweeping expansiveness of the desert landscape, conjuring up “wide-open horizons and endless stretches of two-lane highway.” The raw and cinematic production tips its hat to Bakersfield and Laurel Canyon in California, as it “balances jangle and twang in equal measure.”

“Altitude” showcases the work of a searcher with an insatiable appetite for growth and reflection.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Mississippi, Stuart got his start in bluegrass legend Lester Flatts’ band at 13. By 21, he was working in the studio and on the road with Johnny Cash, according to a press release. Though Stuart built his early reputation backing up country music royalty, it wasn’t long before Nashville recognized him as a star in his own right, and over the course of more than 40 years as a solo artist, he would go on to release more than 20 major label albums, scoring platinum sales and hit singles along the way.

Ticket prices range from $39 to $50, not including ticket service fees, and are available for purchase online at www.wachholzcollegecenter.org. The concert will kick off at 8 p.m. July 28.
