Spartans rack up 16 hits, upend Bravettes

Haley Wolsky had four hits, including two doubles, and scored four times for Missoula Sentinel Thursday as the Spartans upended Flathead 14-3 in a Western AA softball game at KidSport.

Emma Ries had three hits, including a double, and drove in five runs for the Spartans (8-5 overall, 6-3 in Western AA games). Kennedy Dypwick doubled, drove in two runs and scored three times as the Spartans ended the game in five innings under the mercy rule.

Flathead (2-9, 1-7 in league) had a two-run home run from Kaidyn Lake in a three-run third inning. Sawyer VanCampen hit an RBI fielder’s choice ahead of Lake’s homer, which cut the gap to 8-3.
