Fifth Avenue West North closed again for repaving
Fifth Avenue West North between Center and Railroad streets in Kalispell is closed again to through traffic until Thursday while the street is repaved following an emergency water main relocation.
The work, which wrapped up last week, was necessary due to the installation of a sewer main coming from The Silos redevelopment project, according to Joe Schrader of the city Department of Public Works.
The brainchild of developer Mick Ruis, the mixed-use development — it’s expected to include residential apartments and commercial space when completed — has been in the works since 2021.
State environmental regulations required the water main relocation, said Public Works Director Susie Turner.
