RONAN — Sophie Robbins beat a force play at home for the go-ahead run and Sydney Mann capped a big eighth inning with a two-run single as Columbia Falls beat Ronan 7-3 in Northwest A softball Tuesday.

The game was tied 3-3 after seven innings thanks to strong pitching from the Wildkats’ Maddie Moultray and Ronan’s Kaydynce Santos. Both pitchers gave up 10 hits but limited the damage — Santos fanned 10 hitters — before Columbia Falls (14-3 overall, 8-1 in league) broke through in extra innings.

The Wildkats loaded the bases with a single by Robbins, a walk to Kyrah Trenkle and an intentional walk to Tayler Lingle.

Aspen Dawson hit a comebacker to Santos but Robbins still crossed the plate; after Moultray hit an RBI groundout to make it 5-3, Mann hit her third single with two out.

Moultray, who issued two walks, hit a batter and struck out three, then retired the Maidens in order to clinch the win.

Kaleigh Benson had a double and drove in two runs for Ronan (5-9, 2-6 in league).
