Legion baseball: AA Lakers too much for Libby

LIBBY — Andre Cephers threw two sharp innings on the mound, had three hits and drove in three runs as the Kalispell AA Lakers downed Libby 17-3 in a non-conference Legion baseball game Wednesday.

Ostyn Brennan had four hits and drove in three runs from his leadoff spot for the Lakers; Tiny Glanville had three hits and matched Cephers with three runs scored.

Cephers threw the first two innings of what you could call a “bullpen game” for the Lakers. He and four relievers combined to allow five hits, three walks and two earned runs in seven innings. Cephers fanned four; as a team Kalipsell struck out 11.

Cy Williams doubled and homered for the Class A Loggers, who surrendered nine runs in the seventh inning. Five pitchers threw for Libby as well, and Caleb Moeller held the Lakers scoreless in the first three innings, scattering three hits and three walks while fanning three.
