AA Lakers bats start fast in wins
The AA Lakers picked up a sweep Saturday with an 11-3 win over Sherwood Park in the early game and a 10-1 win over the Calgary Cardinals in the nightcap of the Canadian Days tournament.
In game one the Lakers jumped out to a 4-0 first inning lead which was all the run support starting pitcher Andre Cephers would need on the day to get the win. Cephers pitched six innings while striking out six and allowing zero earned runs with all three of the Sherwood Park runs resulting from errors. Ostyn Brennan was 2-3 with three runs batted in for the Lakers in game one.
In the second game the Lakers bats got an early start once again as Kalispell piled up six first inning runs vs the Cardinals. It was a big day at the plate for Kane Morisaki who was 2-3 while driving in four runs for the Lakers. Lakers starting pitcher Max Holden tossed a complete game two-hitter while allowing one earned run and striking out five.
