BUTTE — Aiden Krause can throw and Ethan Anderson can fly.

Both won events Saturday, one as the favorite and the other in an upset, as Glacier’s boys grabbed the third-place trophy at the State AA meet at Bulldog Memorial Stadium.

Gallatin and Helena Capital tied for the boys title with 63 points; Glacier was next with 52. Great Falls High was fourth at 44.5.

Krause, a junior, came through with an expected discus victory, marking 174 feet, 10 inches to win by 11 feet.

Anderson, meanwhile, won the 110-meter hurdles in a personal-record 14.79 seconds. Fellow sophomore Merek Mihelish of Helena Capital was second at 14.83 — his first loss this season in 10 starts.

Anderson also PR’d in the 300 hurdles, running 38.86; he finished second in that race to Gallatin junior Nash Coley. Coley was also fourth in the 110 hurdles.

That accounts for most of the Wolfpack’s points on Saturday. Jeff Lillard, second in the 400 on Friday to Coley, finished sixth in both the 100, 200 and triple jump Saturday. Evan Barnes was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles, and Glacier also took fifth in the 1,600 relay.

Flathead’s boys were 11th in the team race with 22 points. The Braves took third in the long relay, Brody Thornsberry hit his PR again in the triple, placing second at 44-6. Great Falls’ Scott Klinker won at 46-10.5.

Missoula Sentinel’s Hudson Lembke won the 100 meters for a second straight year, clocking 10.87.

Helena’s girls repeated with 114 points. Gallatin was at 70 and Hellgate edged Billings Skyview for third, 68.5-66.

Skyview's Ave Roberts swept the 100 and 200 titles.

Flathead senior Kelcey Copping was fifth in the 100 and fourth in the 200; teammate Alivia Rinehart, a sophomore, was third in the 200 and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles.

The Bravettes scored 32 points, good for seventh. Scoring big was another sophomore, Zoey Bortz, who finished third in the 300 hurdles with a PR of 46.02. Madilyn Todorovich of Helena won in 45.75.

Glacier’s girls tied with CMR for 12th with 10 — Kai Johnson’s Friday win in the shot put provided the Wolfpack all their points.
