Bigfork teams fourth at State B track

BUTTE — Boulder’s boys and Missoula Loyola’s girls claimed the team crowns at the Class B State Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

The Bigfork Valkyries were fourth with 36 points, two behind Big Timber. Missoula Loyola edged the Bigfork Vikings by half a point for fourth place.

For the Vals, Scout Nadeau earned second place finishes in the discus and shot put. Talen Rogers of Colstrip edged Chappuis by a quarter of an inch for first in the shot put.

Inga Turner was fourth in 100 hurdles and Emma Pouwers was fourth in the long jump. Madison Chappius was fourth in the shot put and third in the javelin.

Jack Jensen earned two state titles for the Vikings, one in the 800 meters and the other in the 1,600.

Isak Epperly led a 2-3 finish in the 100 hurdles with Wyatt Johnson. Levi Peterson finished third in the long lump.
