Senior Syd Mann and juniors Maddie Moultray and Haden Peters, who just led Columbia Falls to its first State A softball championship, have been named All-State in voting by the Northwest A coaches.

The coaches picked a 10-player all-Northwest A first team, and eight of those athletes are All-State.

Libby pitcher Mackenzie Foss, a senior, was selected. Polson had two selections, in catcher Carli Maley and infielder Mckenna Hanson. Ronan had second baseman Kaleigh Benson and pitcher Kaydance Santos named as well.

Moultray had an excellent state tournament, throwing all 26 innings that the Wildkats played. She allowed 20 hits, 11 walks and seven earned runs. She fanned 37.

Mann, the shortstop, ran her season totals to six home runs and 39 RBIs for the Wildkats, who ended up 25-3. She drove in three runs in Columbia Falls’ 8-2 win over Billings Central in the championship.

Peters, the Kats' third baseman, batted 8-for-14 at the state tourney, raising her season average to .554. She hit her ninth and 10th home runs at state and ended the season with 56 RBIs.

Filling out the all-conference first team were Polson’s Samantha Rensvold and Columbia Falls first baseman Kyrah Trenkle.

Two more Wildkats, Demye Rensel and Aspen Dawson, were named second-team all-conference. Libby had two as well, in Kinzee Boehmler and Jossalyn White.

Among those garner honorable mention were Kaytin Evans of Browning, Paislee MacDonald and Destinee Crawford of Libby and Tayler Lingle of Columbia Falls.
