Glacier Chorale visits dreamland in upcoming concert

| November 2, 2023 12:00 AM

Glacier Chorale hopes its Mystic Dreams concert will transport listeners to a musical dreamland Nov. 4.

The concert will explore themes of desire, awe, fear, love and beauty through depictions of dreams found in poetry and choral music. The concert will feature 80 members of the Glacier Chorale under the direction of Micah Hunter.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Wachholz College Center located on the Flathead Valley Community College campus.

Mystic Dreams is one of four Glacier Symphony concerts featuring the chorale this season. After Mystic Dreams, the chorale will join the orchestra to perform Handel’s “Messiah” and “Carmina Burana: O Fortuna.”

The Glacier Chorale is made up of people of different ages and backgrounds.

"The Glacier Chorale is made up of people of all ages and walks of life,” said Chorale Conductor Micah Hunter. “We have college students, retirees, active professionals, entrepreneurs, stay-at-home parents, and all kinds of people you can imagine. The Chorale is a group of people who love singing and love the choral art."

Informally established in 1970 and later formalized as an orchestra and chorale in 1982, Glacier Symphony Orchestra and Chorale has a history of excellence in choral music performance in the Flathead Valley.

Ticket prices range from $39 to $69 for adults, $12 to $19 for youths 18 and under, and $15 to $25 for college students. Tickets may be purchased online at https://wachholzcollegecenter.org.
