She worked at several childcare facilities and later opened her own preschool, Woodland Park preschool. Spending her days with little people was her true calling, and she touched the lives of many young children and families over the years. She was a talented cook and was known amongst family and friends for her many amazing dishes. She specialized in Asian cooking and loved trying new recipes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Ernest Aiken; and her son, Michael who passed away at the age of four in 1986.

She is survived by her daughter, Ivy (Drake Burford) of Livingston Montana; son, Samuel (Jennifer Jackson) of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; and son, Thomas of Missoula; her grandchildren, Devan and Alice of Livingston; granddaughter, Maia Scull of Kalispell; grandchildren, Sophia Scull and Samuel Jackson of Coeur d’Alene Idaho; and her brother, Jim (Nancy Hadley) of Sandpoint, Idaho.
