Bigfork Playhouse holds auditions for ‘A Christmas Carol’

| November 9, 2023 12:00 AM

The Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theater is holding auditions for the holiday production of “A Christmas Carol.”

Set in the 1980s, this retelling of the Charles Dickens classic will have a new life, new music, a “gnarly” 80s flair, a visit to his past in the 50s and several iconic 80s personalities.

Auditions will be held at the Bigfork Playhouse Children’s Theatre Building, 833 Grand Dr., on Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. for third and fourth grades, 5:30-6:30 p.m. for fifth through seventh grades and 6:30-8:30 p.m. for eighth grade through adult.

This production calls for a large cast of around 55.  It costs nothing to audition and there is a $60 participation fee if you are cast in the show. Scholarships available.

Those auditioning are asked to prepare a 30-second monologue or short selection from another play, poem or book,  and plan to learn and sing something for us at the audition.

Theater experience is not necessary. Those auditioning should wear comfortable shoes to move around the stage.

Help is also needed with the technical parts – building sets, props, costumes, lights and sound.  Parental and student assistance is welcome. To sign up and for more information: email bpct@bigforksummerplayhouse.com or visit www.bigforksummerplayhouse.com.
