West Glacier KOA honored

The West Glacier KOA Resort campground has earned the Kampgrounds of America, Inc’s Founder’s and President’s Awards.

These prestigious awards were presented Thursday, Nov. 16 at Kampgrounds of America, Inc.’s Annual International Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The KOA Founder’s Award, named in honor of Dave Drum, who founded KOA on the banks of the Yellowstone River in Billings, Montana in 1962, is KOA’s highest service award. It is awarded exclusively to those KOA campground owners and managers who attain world-class scores in both customer service and the KOA Quality Review.

The KOA President’s Award is presented to those campgrounds meeting exceptional quality standards and who receive high customer service scores from their camping guests. KOA surveys hundreds of thousands of campers each year regarding their KOA camping experience.

“Our campground owners and thousands of dedicated employees are essential to providing the superior level of outdoor hospitality KOA guests expect and it’s an honor to recognize this hard work,” said Toby O’Rourke, president and CEO of Kampgrounds of America, Inc. “Our President’s and Founder’s awards are driven by camper feedback and an extensive annual review process. These award-winning KOA owners have made the right investments in their campgrounds and their staff to provide the best outdoor experience in North America.”

Flathead Lake Lodge earns Good Housekeeping award

Flathead Lake Lodge was named as a winner in Good Housekeeping’s 2024 Family Travel Awards.

“Flathead Lake Lodge has been a family tradition since 1945,” said Chase Averill, the third-generation general manager of Flathead Lake Lodge. “We’ve been welcoming generations of families to the ranch for years and we’re honored to have an accolade like this.”

The lodge earned the Milestone Vacation Spot designation under the category of Unforgettable Adventures and Attractions.

As part of the awards, testers from Good Housekeeping visit the family-owned and -operated guest ranch.

Here’s what the testers had to say about the ranch: “It’s hard to capture how much we enjoyed; literally everything was a highlight. The stunning lakeside destination, the grounds, the watersports, the horseback riding, the pool, the main lodge, the tennis and other activities, the mountaintop yoga, the trout pond, Glacier National Park, the food, the hospitality. Literally everything.”

Sitting on the shore of Flathead Lake, Flathead Lake Lodge is an all-inclusive ranch resort with nearly 2,000 acres of terrain. All-inclusive activities include horseback trail rides, sailing, water sports, hiking, mountain biking, yoga, archery, children’s activities, laser tag, pickleball, Pinzgauer tours and sip and paint, as well as evening entertainment that includes live music and a barn dance.

The Good Housekeeping Institute experts spent eight months reviewing hundreds of submissions to find the best travel options for all types of families. When selecting the winners, judges considered standout picks for every trip preference and budget.
