Jimmy Eugene Hamilton, 82

| October 8, 2023 12:00 AM

Jimmy Eugene Hamilton died at his home on Sept. 23, 2023 at 1 p.m. My husband James and I were with him. Daddy was born on Oct. 29, 1940, in Lodi, California.

He grew up mainly in Hughson, California. He worked in the peach orchards as a teen. That's where he met my mama.

He eventually became a millwright. In his line of work, he would travel from state to state, pulling an RV behind going to power plants, overhauling turbines and generators in them. My husband and brother eventually became millwrights, too. We all got to travel together on jobs. It was a lot of fun. We got to see a lot of places.

Daddy loves to paint. He started out painting animals. Then he found his true love of painting. It was Christian art. He also loved to hunt, fish, play golf, and trains. Daddy loved his trains. Daddy would build a whole town for them. I think he loved trains because when he was a boy, he and his mama would ride from Hughson to Bakersfield, California.

Later, Daddy was inspired by the Lord to write tracks about Jesus.

Daddy almost made it to his 83rd birthday. Now he can spend his birthday in Heaven with Jesus and his family and friends that went before him.

Daddy loved going to church every Sunday and going to coffee with his friends three days a week at McDonald's until he couldn't.

Daddy is survived by his daughter, Terry, and son-in-law James; his daughter-in-law, Gabi; his grandkids, Jamey and his wife, Lyndsey. Sami, Amy and her husband, Tyler. His great-grandkids, Parris, Liam John, Harvey, Keygan, Izzy and Hailey; and his, sister Hazel and her husband, Jack; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Daddy was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; his son Robert; his parents Lysander and Ellamae. His brothers and sisters, Frank, Clyde, Raymond, Junor, and Hobert. Ethel, Wilma and Louella.

Dad's funeral will be held on Oct. 9 at the Kalispell Church of Nazarene, 1295 Whitefish Stage Road., Kalispell. Viewing starts at 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The funeral starts at 1 p.m. A dinner will follow; anyone who would like to bring a dessert or salad, it would be greatly appreciated.

Daddy, we love you to Heaven and back. Give mom and Robert a big hug and kiss for me. You are going to be missed. God bless everyone.
