The Wachholz gets festive with holiday lineup

| October 12, 2023 12:00 AM

Get into a festive spirit with a holiday-inspired lineup at the Wachholz College Center, including the iconic Mannheim Steamroller ensemble, Tower of Power and Straight No Chaser.

First, Straight No Chaser, a renowned male a cappella sensation, brings music and humor to the stage as it kicks off their 2023 Sleighin’ It tour in Kalispell at 8 p.m. Oct. 20. Straight No Chaser performances are known for stunning vocal harmonies and entertaining renditions of pop hits and holiday classics.

If the phrase “male a cappella group” conjures up an image of students in blue blazers, ties, and khakis singing traditional college songs on ivied campuses — think again. Straight No Chaser are neither straitlaced or straight-faced, but neither are they vaudeville-style kitsch.

At 7:30 p.m. Nov. 21, Mannheim Steamroller returns to Kalispell after a sold-out show last year, which may happen again with a limited number of tickets still available. Famous for their blend of classical and electronic music, the Mannheim Steamroller Christmas event by Grammy Award winner Chip Davis has been America’s favorite holiday tradition for more than 35 years.

Experience the magic as the spirit of the season comes alive with the dazzling multimedia effects and Christmas classics performed in the signature sound of Mannheim Steamroller.

On Dec. 12, Tower of Power brings their horn-led funk and soul sound of chart-topping hits with a dusting of holiday classics as it celebrates 55 years of touring. Its Holidays & Hits performance will feature fan-loving chart-topping songs with a dusting of select holiday classics. The performance starts at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets may be purchased online at wachholzcollegecenter.org. The Wachholz is located at the Flathead Valley Community College campus.
