| October 15, 2023 12:00 AM

Carol Carr, 88, was born June 25, 1934, to Herbert and Gyda Starr in Mitchell, South Dakota.

She attended Dakota Wesleyan University where she studied music and met Robley Carr whom she married and celebrated 67 years with. She taught music in Mitchell and also 5 years for the BIA. She was much loved with her positive attitude, great sense of humor and genuine interest in people which allowed her to move easily within various social and community circles.

She loved people, dogs, her family, friends, church, community and Montana. An avid reader, after retiring from 25 years with the Kalispell School district as a title I tutor, she volunteered at the city library for several years.

She also served on the Foster Care Review Board and was an active member of the United Methodist Church, particularly championing and serving on the Day Care Center Advisory Board. Despite many health challenges, she maintained great faith and gratitude, and was known for her smile and sense of humor to those she worked with and to those who cared for her in her last years of life.

She was a true inspiration to everyone who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Robley; daughter, Lori (Jody Middleton); son, Thomas (Dianna); granddaughters, Emilie and Katherine; two nieces; and brother-in-law.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Oct. 30, at the United Methodist Church. Remembrances may be made to the United Methodist Day Care Center or the Samaritan House in Kalispell.
