A thrift store volunteer called the Whitefish Police Department looking for advice on what to do with a donated dagger-like weapon.

A woman allegedly tried to steal from a deli and threw food at someone who went to confront her. She fled to the bathroom, where hid in a locked stall.

Police were asked to provide traffic control when an excavator reportedly hit a plastic gas line and people were evacuated from the area.

A “huge” mattress box was lying on the road roughly 1,000 feet from a Montana 40 intersection.

Five to six checks totaling approximately $20,000 were allegedly cashed by a big spender at several bank locations around the valley.

A fanny pack containing cash was found at a restaurant. It was returned to its owner.

Vehicles were reportedly doing doughnuts in a parking lot behind a resident’s house. The resident told the Kalispell Police Department there were 12 vehicles in the parking lot. People at the site told an officer it was a friend who already left. They agreed to move along.

Not long after, a resident called, complaining about a lot of reckless drivers speeding out of a parking lot and up and down the road. They asked officers to provide extra patrol around the intersections near a store.

A third call came in about five or six vehicles driven by teens who reportedly spent the day racing up and down the street and into a parking lot, capping off the laps with burnouts.

A woman called the police, whispering that she thought someone was in her home but then walked around and didn’t see anyone and said she no longer needed officers to respond.

Someone thought the driver of a maroon Nissan SUV that was allegedly swerving all over the place — off the shoulder and into other lanes — was distracted by their phone.

Two vehicles were reportedly exiting a park and a woman was heard yelling, “Help.”

Three males were allegedly riding small dirt bikes on a walking path and on a road boasting a closed sign. When they noticed they were being watched they got off it.

Someone no longer wanted to pursue charges due to what turned out to be a misunderstanding about how a crack came to mar their vehicle. They initially thought it was the result of a friend throwing a rock, which turned out to be a splatter ball shot by a toy gun. They also spoke with a parent who said the crack was there before the incident.
