Ruby Otis Levitt, 93
Ruby "Tiny" Otis Levitt, 93, died Oct. 5, 2023. She was born Jan. 22, 1930, near Shepherd, Montana, on her parents homestead. Weighing only 3.5 pounds she was dubbed "Tiny" and it stuck.
Growing up in the Great Depression made her early years hard, but the love of her parents and family kept her happy. The family lived several places in the Northwest, moving and following where there was work. She settled in Kalispell shortly after she graduated high school.
Tiny met E. "Dewey" Levitt and the two were married in 1950. The two enjoyed a long marriage that lasted 64 years until Dewey’s passing. They had four children, 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren too.
Always a servant and ready to bless others she often turned her hands to baking, or sewing gifts and quilts for others. She was known for her "Mountain Buns" and homemade strawberry freezer jam. She spent many hours with her hands folded in prayer, her love of faith and others was evident to all. She always said, "I was loved so much it became easy to love."
She was preceded in death by her parents; all her siblings; her husband; son, Michael; and son-in-law, Tim.
She is survived by daughters, Leslie (Kelly) and Marsha; son, Rodney (Elizabeth); as well as grands, greats, and other dear relatives.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Sat. Oct. 28, at Hope Church, 436 Birch Grove Road, Kalispell. A potluck luncheon and "Tiny" party will be held at the church following a short graveside service.
