Law roundup: Man blows up at maintenance worker
A bearded man “who thought he owned the place” was reportedly screaming at a maintenance worker who was outside using a leaf blower. After berating him, the man went back to sit in a gray van and sulked. A tenant told the Kalispell Police Department the mouthy man was also yelling at other people too. An officer kicked him off the property.
A woman called to report someone sleeping in a bank ATM vestibule surrounded by pills and belongings. Uncomfortable with the situation, she left before officers arrived. An officer advised the man of his warrants before he moved along.
A retail manager found a woman sleeping next to a shopping cart under the business’ awning and complained that she kept coming back. An officer advised the sleeping beauty of her warrants and she moved along.
A Whitefish resident whined about people shooting allegedly 300 yards from his barn, scaring the horses, and about 500 yards from his driveway. He told Flathead County Sheriff’s Office that the people shooting were usually “a bunch of drunks.” Deputies made contact with the people who were shooting on their property in a safe direction.
Beer bottles reportedly surrounded a man in a blue Trailblazer parked at a Columbia Falls location. An employee told deputies he saw the man throw some of the bottles in a trashcan and was concerned he would drive.
Someone handling identity and credit card theft was reportedly receiving text messages containing death threats.
A dog allegedly attacked someone’s rabbit in Kalispell, leaving it bloodied but still alive.
Neighborhood dogs were reportedly hanging out on a woman’s property early in the morning, and she told deputies she was concerned about lodging a complaint because the owners had been “aggressive and vengeful” after she made one report. She didn’t want animal control to respond, only a phone call from law enforcement.
A log was smoking in Hungry Horse and someone wanted to make sure if there was a fire, that it was fully extinguished. It was a recreational fire.
