Whitefish event benefits Maui wildfire victims

Mauistrong will host an event at the Great Northern Bar in Whitefish on Sept. 20 beginning at 6 p.m. to benefit those who were impacted by the wildfires in Maui last month.

Organized by Kimmy Krost, who spent 19 years living in Maui, and local musicians Ash Krost and Vincent Rannazzisi, the event will include four bands and a series of raffles for items donated by several local businesses.

The bands include: Dan Dubuque, Way Down North, Hotdayum and Surfbat. The entry is $5. People are encouraged to participate in the raffles which include donations from: Stumptown Snowboards, Amazing Crepes, Slow Burn Records, Wasabi Sushi Bar, Jersey Boys, Indah Sushi, Third Street Market, Tailwaggers, Sappari Clothing, Bonsai Brewing, EBS bags, the Nest, Cutthroat Tattoo and Madi Moonjuice tattoo.

All funds raised will be donated directly to the Maui Humane Society, the Maui Food bank, and the Maui Economic Development.
