Passenger dies after exiting moving vehicle

A Libby woman is dead after reportedly exiting a moving vehicle around 10:15 p.m. Sept. 15.

According to Montana Highway Patrol, a 56-year-old Libby woman was driving a Chevy Tahoe on U.S. 2 when an altercation occurred. The passenger, a 32-year-old Libby woman, reportedly became upset and wanted to stop and get out at Happy’s Inn, which the driver didn’t want to do.

The passenger allegedly exited the vehicle before it came to a stop and rolled several feet before coming to a standstill. The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol was a suspected factor. Road conditions were dry and clear.
