Law roundup: Neighbor child commits foul with noisy play
Deeming the behavior of a neighborhood child offsides, a resident phoned the Kalispell Police Department hoping they could give a red card. The little girl was bouncing a soccer ball around and the noise of it echoed in the resident’s home. Officers heard no noise, not even an errant “ole ole ole,” upon their arrival.
The owner of a 2016 Ford Mustang asked the authorities to investigate a possible hit-and-run. Officers noted that the muscle car suffered a small amount of damage to the front bumper, likely from a vehicle hitch. They gave him a report for insurance purposes while he canvassed neighbors asking for security footage that might have caught the collision.
Officers pulled over a black Ferrari on U.. 93 in Kalispell for lack of a license plate.
At the behest of the general manager of a local business, the police shepherded along a man who was asking passersby for money.
A security guard asked officers for help after someone started blaring an air horn at them.
Police were summoned after someone witnessed a man allegedly shove a woman to the ground. Officers located the pair and were assured that it “was just a scuffle.”
A motorist driving through the woods while laying on the horn annoyed a resident, who phoned the police. Officers were unable to locate the silver Toyota truck.
A man accused his neighbor of shoving and assaulting him. Officers arrived and separated everyone involved for the time being. No one wanted to pursue criminal charges.
Officers investigated a resident’s complaints about a neighbor making noise and uttering profanities, but determined the claims were unfounded.
Spotting a trio of pit bulls running along U.S. 93 near a feed store, a passerby phoned the authorities. The police fielded more calls about the pack after they were spotted heading east on 14th Street. Another resident reported three dogs in their yard and said the canines charged while growling and barking. They took off headed toward Woodland Avenue. A short time later, someone spotted two pit bull mixes out in front of the Conrad Mansion. Officers eventually wrangled the pups and took them to “doggie jail.”
Employees of a combination gas station and convenience store asked for a walkthrough after a pair of women raised their suspicions. The two had gone in and out of the store all night and the employee suspected they were planning on shoplifting. The duo was gone by the time officers arrived.
Suspecting she had stumbled across drug paraphernalia, a woman alerted police to a collection of baggies and burnt up tinfoil on the ground near a discarded lockbox. Officers collected what they deemed “garbage.”
